Hello all! It’s hard to believe that we’re in the last month of the year. November really flew by — work has been rough, and I haven’t had as much time to create content and post outfits. I’ve been working on a due diligence for an acquisition — it’s exciting, but I am READY for a break. As my dad likes to say, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy (in this case: Jackie a dull girl). For the holidays, I will be heading to Toronto for Christmas, followed by Jackson Hole in Wyoming to ski! I miss the snow, so hopefully the powder will be good. Whatever your plans are for the holidays, I hope you have a great time and get some R&R!

Party Time

December is the time for holiday parties, which are always fun, but tend to give me anxiety because I never know what to wear. I think back to Aspen last year when I bought an Alice+Olivia sequin cardigan (similar here) an hour before a holiday party because I left it to the last minute. This year, I am determined to avoid this problem altogether. So, here are a few ideas to get your (and my) juices flowing for party season:

Holiday Sweaters

As you probably know, I am not really a pattern or print person. However, I make an exception around the holidays because I love a festive sweater! There’s something so chic about a fair isle or printed sweater when it’s cold. Here are my favourites:

Five Things I Bought

I will admit that I shopped my work frustrations away in November. If I’m working non-stop for weeks on end, I’m buying myself something nice. Anyway, here are five things that I bought and loved last month:

1. The Row Soft Loafers: One of my styling clients has wanted these loafers for a while — when she tried them on, I loved them so much that I also bought a pair for myself. They are beyond soft and comfortable. If you’re in the market for new loafers… these are 1000% my recommendation

2. Toteme Striped Turtleneck: I wasn’t looking for another striped turtleneck (I love my cream one), but I saw this in person and loved it. Farfetch is 20-30% cheaper than other sites (thanks to pricing errors!)

3. D’Haene Studio Vase: Jane Yang D’Haene is a talented ceramicist whose work I have admired since seeing her pieces at The Future Perfect in LA. Not only is her work incredible, she is also a fellow neighbour in NYC, so all the more reason to support her!

4. NAP “Ultimate Gift Set”: NAP didn’t do an advent calendar this year (to my dismay) and instead launched a holiday “lantern”. It has some great products — I bought this for 30% off last month

5. Comme Si Red Merino Socks: I love Comme Si and stocked up on more socks. Their tube socks are my favourite

How to Style…Knee High Boots

In my opinion, every wardrobe should have a pair of knee high boots: a classic, “riding-style” pair that hits below the knee, with a slight heel and more rounded toe. Knee high boots are versatile and an easy way to pull together an outfit. I wear these ones from Legres with everything from leggings for a more casual look to a mini skirt for a night out. Here are a few styling ideas:

4 - PARTING NOTE

For me, December is a time to reflect on the past 12 months and track my progress against the goals I set out to achieve at the beginning of the year. In 2023, I launched my styling business, continued working with brands new and old to create content, and connected with many of you through this newsletter and on Instagram. It’s been rewarding to look back and see how my small seeds of ideas have grown. All of this is to say thank you again for supporting me, and there’s more to come in 2024!
