Hello, friends!

How are you doing? Before we get into things, I want to thank you all again for your support. Earlier in September, I hit 30K followers on Instagram, and I would not have gotten there without you. I’ve been reflecting lately — looking at brands that I’ve worked with, as well as the progress in this newsletter. I am forever grateful and excited to see where this journey takes us!

This month, I will be heading back to Toronto to see family and friends — it’s been a while! It’s also time to get a haircut, go to the dentist, and all that fun stuff lol. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this month’s newsletter. As always, feel free to reach out if you have any suggestions.

1 - FASHION

Winter Coats

If you’ve seen the online inventory of my closet on my website, you’ll know that I love coats. I swear it’s a genetic thing, because my dad is equally obsessed with outerwear (his thing is buying multiple down coats every year for the Canadian winters…). The coat closet in my apartment is bursting at the seams, yet I am always looking for new ones. Here are a few that I would love to add to my collection this winter:

Rain Boots

It was raining non-stop in NYC for the past week, and it had me all down and dreary. Everyone needs a good pair of rain boots for the days where it just won’t stop raining. I rely on my Hunter boots, but would happily upgrade to any of these options below:

Five Things I Bought

Below are five things that I bought and loved last month:

1. The Row Medium Park Tote: I love everything from The Row. This tote fits all my essentials for a day around the city. It’s sold out everywhere, but I recommend putting yourself on the waitlist!

2. Khaite Bruno Belt: As you have probably seen, I wear my belts from The Row almost every day, so I figured it was time to try something new. Belts are an easy way to freshen up an outfit, and my Khaite belt is no exception. I bought the black one, but other colours are linked

3. Celine Sunglasses: I am finally tired of wearing aviator sunglasses and switched to a more oval/cat-eye look. I love how these sunglasses look — I was heavily considering this pair from Khaite too

4. Khaite Saba Tank Top: This tank top is slinky and perfect for layering or on its own — I wore it on the last, super hot day of summer

5. Lady White T-shirts: Lady White is technically a menswear brand, but I’ve been buying their high-quality shirts for a long time. I stocked up on a few Rugby and Balta t-shirts

How to Style… a White T-Shirt

Welcome to a new segment in my newsletter! Friends often ask me how to style certain pieces in their closet, so I’ll be showcasing fresh ways to style a “hero” piece each month. What better way to kick things off than with a white t-shirt? It’s a piece that we all have in our closets — I love to wear mine with pretty much everything. I have a lot of white t-shirts: oversized, fitted, cropped, thin, thick/heavy, cotton, linen… the list goes on. My favourite t-shirt brands are from Lady White (for oversized), Eterne (for fitted/cropped), and Asket (for everything else). Here are some ways I would style a t-shirt:

A relatively work-appropriate outfit

3 - HOME

Pitchers

A few weeks ago, I sadly shattered my beloved Kinto water pitcher and as a result, was desperate to find a new one. I drink 4-5 litres of water a day (stay hydrated, people!), so the urgency was real. I ended up purchasing Sophie Lou Jacobsen’s Clear Wave Pitcher — I’ve been using it for a week now and love it. Here are others that I considered:

My Closet

As mentioned in the first section, I spent some time putting together an online inventory of my closet. Feel free to check it out and shop my closet :)

Phoebe Philo

Like many others, I was obsessed with Celine during the Phoebe Philo era. Needless to say, I am so excited for her new collection that comes out on October 30. You’ll be the first to know next month if I scoop anything up.

Home Stuff

My boyfriend and I paid a visit to The Future Perfect last week in LA and was blown away by the pieces by Jane Yang-D’Haene, Shore Rugs, Thomas Eyck and Chris Wolston. Which pieces we took home, you’ll have to wait and see :)

5 - PARTING NOTE

When I was in LA last weekend, I tried Hailey Bieber’s “Strawberry Glaze” smoothie at Erewhon and unfortunately I am now hooked. There’s no Erewhon in NYC, and I’m not about to buy 20 ingredients to make this smoothie. For my NYC readers: please tell me if you’ve seen a decent substitute somewhere in the city!
